Why Automation? 

Why is now the time to look at marketing automation? I’ve seen two big reasons it’s a good fit for my clients, and they just might apply to you and your business as well.

First, an investment in marketing automation pays off. This is true not only because automation has become so much more common and affordable, but also because it delivers results. In my experience I’ve seen that for every dollar you put into automation, you’ll get $5, $10, or $100 out. It’s so exciting to see this technology helping small companies to be more successful!

When I first started digging into this topic, my friend Frank offhandedly said, “This is the cheapest and best employee I’ve ever had!” He was talking about how he uses marketing automation to stay in touch with clients, follow up with his prospects, automatically collect monthly fees, and promo his events – 24/7. So great. It’s like you can’t afford NOT to do it!

Second, the way people buy has changed, with purchase decisions now relying heavily on online research before and personal interaction takes place. You know this story because you probably buy this way, too. So, maybe you’ve responded to this trend by putting some PDFs and videos on your website, but these days you need to do more.

People still need 7 or 11 or 27 touches before they buy, but those touches are not just phone calls and trade shows meetings like they used to be. Now these touches include email and website and social media, and they need to be targeted and orchestrated according to the different interests and actions of your prospects.
